In 2015, the international community was working towards the culmination of the Millennium Development Goals and was in the midst of negotiating the post-2015 development agenda. This publication examines what’s at stake, the opportunities for nutrition in the post-2015 development agenda, as well as emerging challenges.
This issue includes:
- Peer-reviewed feature papers on nutrition and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
- A series of opinion papers, including contributions by high-level nutrition champions Pope Francis and Her Excellency First Lady of Peru Nadine Alarco;
- Sectoral perspectives from representatives of the UN, donor countries, civil society, parliamentarians, private sector and multi-stakeholder platforms like the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement and the Committee on World Food Security (CFS);
- Interviews with practitioners, field-workers and civil society representatives from Latin America, Africa and Asia; and
- Commentaries with arguments for and against the proposal of a global framework convention on healthy diets.
Note: This publication was developed under the auspices of the United Nations System Standing Committee on Nutrition (UNSCN), one of the precursors to UN-Nutrition.
