This discussion paper takes a first step towards exploring policy actions that enhance coherence between trade policy and nutrition action. It provides an overview of the objectives of nutrition action and of modern trade policy, focusing on policies to liberalize trade through global and regional agreements. The paper concludes with eight specific recommendations for key actors relevant to trade and nutrition.
